Minister's Thought for the Week - 12th February 2012
|
The past few Sunday evenings I have joined with twenty to thirty others in the church hall at Craiglockhart. We have been meeting to go through the Christianity Explored course, (www.christianityexplored.org), and to think through what this life is all about. Over the seven weeks of the course we are taken through the Gospel of Mark exploring who Jesus is, why he came to earth and what is the significance of his death and resurrection for our lives?
Maybe for some people these are new questions to be asked, while for others these are questions whose answers have had life changing significance for them over many years.
For me it has been great to sit and re-read familiar stories and to be able to grasp through that, and through the discussions with others, a little bit more of the message of good news for the world that comes through the person of Jesus Christ. It is a wonderful thing to realise that God keeps on speaking to us, even after many years, and in so doing shows us more and more of what he is like and of his love for us.
Every blessing
Peter
