Our Minister Rev Gordon Kennedy is currently serving as Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland.
My role at church is Mission Development and Youthwork. We have various groups in the church for young people which you can find out more about elsewhere in this website. I also help to run other groups which encourage us in our discipleship. I am married to Tamzin and have two sons. I enjoy reading and DIY though I don’t seem to be very good at it.
I recently retired from academic life in the USA. It is a joy to return to parish life as the Locum Minister at Craiglockhart, where I lead worship and preach on Sundays and provide pastoral care in the congregation and parish.
I recently retired as the minister of Liberton Kirk (now part of South East Edinburgh Church of Scotland), and My role as 'Interim Moderator' is to chair Kirk Session meetings and support Gill and the elders in all that they are doing.
As Session Clerk I work in conjunction with the Minister to coordinate and support the work of the Kirk Session as it serves our church and parish. Another important part of my role is to be concerned with the welfare of our congregation, again in conjunction with the Minister. I also sing in our choir.
I became Craiglockhart's organist in 2025 and am responsible for developing the music during services, including directing the church choir. I enjoy nature, wildlife and climbing hills, especially when it's not raining."
